Roger Falconer

Prof. Roger Falconer graduated as a civil engineer, and has since spent over 40 years in academia, specialising in water and environmental engineering and acquiring extensive research experience in developing and applying computational hydro-environmental models for environmental impact assessment studies and engineering design. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales. At Cardiff he founded the Hydro-environmental Research Centre and managed the Department of Civil Engineering at his previous university (Bradford). He was a member of the 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2008) and Chair of the Civil and Construction Engineering Sub-Panel for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF2014). He was elected President and Honorary Member (2017) of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research IAHR (2011-15). He has published extensively in the field of computational hydro-environmental modelling and has delivered numerous keynote and external lectures world-wide. He has worked extensively on providing specialist advice, to industry and government departments, on a wide range of water environmental impact assessment (EIA) projects, both in the UK and overseas; for example, he was involved in an international high profile court case (Malaysia v. Singapore, 2003) and in the follow up EIA study. He has also interacted extensively with consulting engineering companies and regulatory agencies, through the provision of his hydro-environmental computer models. He has also participated extensively in TV and Press interviews, on a wide range of topics, most notably: the Severn Barrage, tidal lagoons, flooding, and global water security etc. 닫기

Ana Isabel Lillebø

Dr. Ana Lillebø holds a PhD in Biology, specialization in Ecology (2001) from University of Coimbra, Portugal. During her PhD, she had externship training in Sweden and in Denmark and was award with the IMAR prize (2001). She did her Post-Doc trainingat IMAR, Southern Denmark University and University of Evora. Since 2006 she is an independent Researcher at CESAM/University Aveiro (UA), where from 2006-2010, she developed her research at the Dep. of Chemistry and from 2011 to present at the Dept. of Biology, where she is now Principal Researcher. She is a well-established researcher in Coastal Ecosystems with focus on: Coastal Ecosystems Ecological Status & Management; Applied Ecology & Nature-based solutions; Environmental Chemistry & Anthropogenic impacts; EU Policies & Ecosystem Services, in a transdisciplinary context. She presently granted with 2.5M € funding through a H2020 ERA Chair project (2021-2026) aiming at bringing to CESAM an outstanding academic in the topic of Environmental Economics and Natural Resources. She has collaborated with DG JRC on the Common Implementation Framework of the EU Biodiversity Strategy, co-authoring the 2nd Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystem and their Services (MAES) report. She was also the main editor and co-author for theIWA book on Coastal Lagoons in Europe: Integrated Water Resource Strategies. 닫기

Mike Elliott

Prof. Mike Elliott has wide experience and interests in marine and estuarine ecology, human impacts, marine and estuarine management, governance and policy. He has co-authored/co-edited 17 books and more than 250 scientific publications. He has advised on many environmental matters for academia, industry, government and statutory bodies in Europe and elsewhere and is a member of governmental and other advisory bodies. Mike has adjunct and research positions at universities and research institutes in Europe, South Africa and Australia. He is a past-president of the international Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association (ECSA) and is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science. 닫기

Jae-Hyeon Park

Dr. Jae-hyeon Park is the CEO of K-water, Korea Water Resources Corporation. He received both his master’s degree and a doctorate in Civil Engineering (specifically hydraulic engineering) at Seoul National University, Republic of Korea, before beginning his career in the field of academia. He worked as a professor in the College of Engineering at Inje University for about 20 years from 2000, and was a visiting professor at the University of California, United States. In addition to his professional academics experiences, Dr. Park is widely recognized as an expert in the water sector since he actively engaged in diverse water-related activities such as the National Water Management Committee, Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, Integrated Water Management Vision Forum, etc. In 2020, in recognition of his work in this field, Dr. Park was elected as the President of the Asia Water Council, and presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the World Water Council, Federation of Korean Society of Water and Academic Societies, and Korea Water and Wastewater Association. 닫기

Himangshu S Das

Dr. Das serves as the District’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing expert guidance in coastal hydrology and hydraulics. Currently he is serving as the technical lead for the Coastal Texas Mega project - $20 million applied research program to better understand coastal risk and resilience to develop and engineer innovative solution to reduce infrastructure risk specific to the Texas coast from Louisiana to Mexico border. Prior to joining at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, from 2008 to 2017, Dr. Das served as a tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Jackson State University (JSU). 닫기
